Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top

I've been wanting to paint one of my favorite guitarists, Billy Gibbons, for quite a while. I also wanted to stay away from 100% rendering from head to toe on this one. This method makes it easier for the eye to move through the piece, instead of not being sure where to look next.
Mixed media: Acrylics, Gouache, and Colored pencils.

Self Portrait

A great way to overcome a slump of creative thinking? Do a self portrait. Let your mind think about nothing except "...does this look like me?"
Mixed media: acrylic. goauche. oils. colored pencils.

Tom Hardy

I got a little burst of energy last night (due to some poorly time coffee consumption!), so I wanted to do a quick caricature sketch of one of my new favorite actors, Tom Hardy.

Every illustrator's morning

I have a few commissions on my plate that I didn't want to just jump into, so I wanted to shake off any left over rust from RIT with a little still-life study. A few of my favorite things here, a hot cup of coffee and my sketchbook and pencil.
Mixed media: acrylics, oils, and colored pencils.

Alsheimer brew

Going into my last few weeks at RIT, I really needed to cool down and just relax with some personal work. So I really felt the urge to paint some beer the other day, and got thirsty doing it.  Mixed media(acrylic, watercolor, oil, and colored pencils)

A Cat with Class

So I have been trying to fill gaps in my portfolio lately, and I realized I don't have many animals, so here's a personal piece of a classed up cat about to gulp down a goldfish. Stay thirsty my friends.

You can't 'Beat the Heat'

Here's an illustration I did a few months ago, and since the NBA playoffs are going on right now I figured it would be a good time to post it. The big three from the Miami Heat: Lebron James (left), Dwyane Wade (middle), and Chris Bosh (right).
